This time we welcome very special guest DJ Dragonfly, fresh off the plane from Envision Festival in Costa Rica!!!

Movement Temple is every 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at The Fairfax Community Church, alternating with Ecstatic Dance which happens on the 2nd and 4th Fridays.

Come dance, connect and be with your community in a beautiful, meditative and deeply present environment with a good variety of different tempos and styles of music.  Enjoy cozy cushions and places to lie down and relax inside the beautiful, meditative space of the Fairfax Community Church.  Plenty of room for Contact Improv as well as space to do your own thing!

This is what we are creating with Movement Temple. And we hope you can join us!  The dance will be a quiet space, though whispering or talking quietly in the back/corners/sides is allowed. We will have a sound healing followed by a short closing at the conclusion of the dance set.

I can’t say enough about the respect I have for how much Dragonfly aka Martin has done for the dance community in the Bay Area and way way beyond. A true pioneer!  Come give him a warm welcome!

Described as “indescribable” my sets are like an intimate conversation; a dialogue, not a monologue. I never plan in advance what I am going to spin as my motivation is “the moment”, that place in time where the party, the people, the vibe, the soundsystem, the hour, the venue all conjoin as the unique ingredients alchemized by the music.

Breaking the DJ mold of the single tempo experience, I drop an amalgamation of bass culture’s most embraced genres with a fearless twist on tempo.Trap, Drum n Bass, House (tech/funky), Breaks, Dub, Downtempo, UK Funky Dubstep and Glitch Hop are all fused to an urban/indigenous Third World vibe where his signatory dancefloor grip ranges from “Ecstatic-Liquid-Groove” to “Transglobal-Ghetto-Whomp”.

Two decades on the circuit he has performed with many of the dance scene’s most pioneering and resilient producers: Bassnectar, Ott, Krafty Kuts, Opiuo, PhuturePrimitive, Gaudi, Vibesquad, Freq Nasty, Adam Freeland, Cheb I Sabbah, Bluetech, Tipper, Karsh Kale, David Starfire, Heavyweight Dub Champion, Random Rab, Nickodemus, Dreadzone, Pitch Black, Dunkelbunt, and many more!
